Glowing Makeup Look with a Natural Eye Lift using Winged Eyeliner
An Easy Makeup Tutorial with Metallic Eyeshadows and Makeup Reviews
Are you going out on a date or a special event and want the perfect glam makeup look that wows the crowd, shows off your features without looking cakey? If you answered yes, this makeup tutorial is for you.
Our client, Kendra, had a chemical peel done a week before the makeup application. We wanted to show off her glowing skin by giving her an even complexion with a healthy glow. She has bright, beautiful blue eyes that we wanted to emphasize with a natural eye lift using winged eyeliner and half lashes.
The first step to any makeup look is always SKINCARE.
If you are putting makeup on top of rough layers of dead skin cells, it doesn't matter what kind or how much makeup you layer on your skin- this will show through.
Remember- glowing makeup starts with glowing skin.
Since Kendra had a chemical peel, there was no need for any exfoliants. Our sole focus was on moisturizing and hydrating her skin.
We started with Viviers Refreshing Toner. The toner is mild enough for all skin types and gently lifts dead skin cells and debris off the skin. Please note: Toner does NOT replace face wash. We started on a clean face, so this step was added to tone and refresh! Following the toner, we used Glow Recipe Plump Plump Hyaluronic Serum for a deep hydrating glow.
The serum gets sealed into the skin with Vivier Lexxel Moisturizer. Moisturizing is crucial before makeup application. The moisturizer acts as a skin barrier, locking in moisture and hydration, and helps to protect your skin from free radicals. It also creates the perfect base to start your makeup. We suggest waiting a couple of minutes before you start your makeup application to allow your skin to absorb the moisturizer.
Before we get into the complete list of makeup products used for this look, we will start with our own First Class Beauty Co makeup favorites. This glam makeup look would not be the same without them- they are crucial elements.
For this eyeshadow look, we used "Limitless" Eyeshadow Primer followed by "Pure Nude" applied from the lash line to brow bone.
Across the lid and lower lash line, we used "Champagne' Metallic Eyeshadow which helped give a gorgeous, wet eyeshadow look.
"Terra Cotta" was used to tight line the outer corner of the top and bottom lash line and act as an eyeliner up toward the bottom end of the eyebrow. This step was the start of our natural eye lift with a cat-eye.
To clean up the wing of the eyeshadow, we used "Limitless" with a small angled eyeshadow brush which left a straight, clean line. "Limitless" acts as an eyeshadow eraser when applied on top of the eyeshadows. A perfect makeup to have around if you are a beginner and want to make quick and easy touch-ups.
• To emphasize the cat eye and eye lift, we used the First Class Beauty Co Winged Eyeliner Stamp. The felt precision tip starts tight-lined at the inner corner of the top lash line, growing thicker as we make our way out to the wing.
• The wing is stamped on angled slightly higher and elongated with the precision tip. The end of the eyeliner lands slightly before the end of your eyebrow.
The best thing about false eyelashes is that there is no commitment to their length. You can cut the lashes in half easily if you want to bring more attention to the outer corner of your eye. Here, Darby Faux Mink Eyelashes are cut in half and placed on the outer corner of the lashes, extending past the end of the eye and up the wing to accentuate the cat-eye. Usually, eyelashes are placed directly on the lash line, but what made this eye lift extra dramatic was lifting the end of the strip lash angled above the lash line then gluing in place.

To balance off the dramatic eyes, we wanted to use a Nude Lip Pencil like Anne. It was the perfect lip color for this natural glam makeup look.

Primer

Prep the skin with Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer to smooth the skin and blur flaws. Photo Finish Primer has been around for quite some time, and after trying it out, it's clear why it's been a long-time makeup favorite.
Strobe Cream

We are obsessed with the Pink Lite Strobe Cream from MAC Cosmetics. We have yet to find anything that compares to it. We use it by layering it under our foundation. Now the glow shines through your foundation without being too overpowering. Layering in this order doesn't take away from the coverage of your foundation.
Foundation

We went over the contour with the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Quickie Cream-to-powder Contour Stick that glides on, has a creamy consistency, and helped blend all the sculpting for a seamless, easy-to-use makeup.
Cheek Tint

This is one of those products you use once and start wondering why you haven't been using it earlier! The Concierge Cheek and Lip Tint in Sandals is such a gorgeous color with buildable coverage and gives you a beachy, healthy glow. We use it high on the cheekbone for extra lift. This product is also for your lips and eyes! We consider it a great makeup choice for beginners or someone that likes to carry around minimum amounts of makeup. The product is used by gliding the tint across your cheeks, lips, or eyes and then using your fingers or beauty sponge which easily blends the color out. Use it on top of foundation or alone for natural-looking makeup. We cannot get enough of it.
Loose Powder

Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in Banana we used with a small round brush over the areas of the face that produce the most oil, like around the nostrils and t-zone, as well as lightly dusted over the entire face to set the foundation. The loose powder has a superb blendable consistency and sets the foundation very well. Careful not to go overboard with this powder- it gets cakey quick.

RCMA "The Original" No Color Powder has no pigment, no perfume, and is without fillers! We used the powder by dusting it loosely under the eyes to catch any fallout and set the concealer. (See our #1 Beauty Product of the Look at the end of this blog! We combine this powder with another product for a neat makeup trick).
Powdered Bronzer and Blush

Nesting B!#%h Face Palette by Pretty Vulgar has been a staple in our makeup collection because of the multiple uses in one palette. We use it after the loose powder to enhance the vibrance of our blush and add extra definition. In this makeup look, we used the colors Sun Kissed Snitch, Ego, and Sun of A B for our bronzer. We mixed Mirror Mirror and Hush Blush for a perfect shimmery rose that matched our cheek tint. Want to know a great bonus about this palette? Mascara

We can confidently say, this is our new favorite mascara.

Lip Gloss

The Beauty Crop Coco Gold Mist is loved and used frequently in this glowing skin makeup look. This hydrating setting mist was used frequently on different layers of our makeup look to set and rehydrate to avoid your makeup looking cakey. Our favorite beauty hack is spraying this setting spray on a damp makeup sponge and blotting over any areas that look too cakey or need setting. Beauty Hack: This is a great product to use with the RCMA powder under the eyes to melt the powder into the concealer to avoid creasing! There are a ton of great qualities in this product. Scent of Choice

We think it says a lot about how they are feeling after seeing themself all glammed up. The scent our client chose for this look was Versace Crystal Noir. Its main accords are Warm and Spicy and "made for the woman who is effortlessly sexy and confident." Of course, what a perfect choice to accompany this makeup look!
